FTYF works directly with the Middle School and High School coaches in Franklin Township. Recently, the District hired Coach Jayson West to lead our Flashes football program. Coach West comes to Franklin Central from Warren Central where he has coached for the last 8 years. Before that he coached at Lawrence Central and has an overall record of 123-39 with 3 state championships to his credit.
"I think Franklin Central is a sleeping giant. They have won many football games there for years. It is a district that is growing and I think they are hungry to compete at the highest level. The people I met at Franklin Central have been wonderful.
I hope I have 10 more years of coaching, West said. Both my sons now play football and they love it. I’ve always wanted to be able to coach them if they want to. If not, that’s fine too. But I’m lucky to have this chance.
Having a strong Franklin Township Youth Football program is vital to the success of our program. The youth league is where players are first exposed to football and where we want them to learn to love this game. This is where they begin to understand what being Flash is all about! We will work together with FTYF and the Franklin Central Junior high to ensure players are taught to enjoy playing the game but also that they understand the work ethic and attention to detail it takes to be great. At each of these levels the players will be taught similar fundamentals, techniques, style of play and values that will help prepare them to eventually be Varsity Flashes on Friday nights while playing the greatest game on earth!"
At the recommendation of Coach Chuck Stephens, Executive Director, and Leo LaGrotte, President, the Flashes Football Foundation board approved a proposal to help offset the registration fees for every tackle football player signing up to play for the Franklin Township Youth Football league! They have committed $50 to each players registration to reduce the registration down to $100. Through this committement to our youth program, we will be able to provide a top level program at a lower rate to be even more affordable to our community.
FTYF is fortunate to have partnerships with community partners like FFF and will continue to work with the Foundation to help support our families in the Flashes football community. With that said, please consider visiting the Foundation website at flashesfootballfoundation.org to see how you can play a bigger role in making our partnerships even stronger into the future.

We have prepared a season in review and you can view it by clicking on the image. Even in a unique time, we had a great season with great support from our community! GO FLASHES!!!
Coach West and his staff have created two opportunities for all athletes to get started in their offseason conditioning, strength and training.
SPARK Academy is for all athletes currently in 4th - 11th grades. Registration has been limited to the first 100 to sign up due to limited space indoors. Once the weather clears up, workouts will be moved outdoors and numbers can increase.
Middle School Academy is for football players currently in 4th - 8th grades. GOAL - To PREPARE our players K-12 mentally and physically to compete at the highest level in the country. We want to build relationships with all of our current/future student-athletes that want to be a part of the FC Flashes Program.
Registration is open at the link below.
All Star tryouts for all football players for grades 1st thru 6th grades are scheduled for August 27th and September 3rd at the location provided on the map.
We will have all star teams for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. Those 1st graders selected to be all-stars will play for the 2nd grade team. We recommend that those parents of 1st graders that believe are ready for 2nd grade all-stars reach out to their coaches for feedback and recommendations before attending tryouts.
All tryouts are full pads and there will be hitting/tackling.
Anyone selected to an all-star team will be required to pay an additional $75 for uniforms/decals.
We are planning on to participate in 3 postseason tournaments starting the Saturday of October 10th.
Please take a look at this year's game schedule. We have added Tuesday games in order to get our entire schedule in before Franklin Township's fall break. Also, note that August 15th is not only our opening day but picture day for our football teams. We are working to get our cheerleading picture date secured and will follow up shortly.
8/10 & 8/12 Full Pads 6-7:30pm
Opening Day 8/15
The first couple weeks teams can practice everyday but that is up to the coach of each team. We understand we are still working with the Rookie and Little league baseball and ask that each coach be understanding that there may be some conflicts.
Gabe Crutchfield - Gavin Keesee - Nate Talhelm
On Saturday, June 27th, we awarded our first scholarships to Gabe Crutchfield, Gavin Keesee, and Nate Talhelm. In partnership with the BlakeStrong Bowell Fund, we wanted to give back to these young men that started their football careers with FTYF, recently completed their senior year with the Franklin Central Flashes, and will be continuing their academic and athletic careers at the next level. Good luck gentlemen and GO FLASHES!!
